Industry-leading expertise and teaching methods
What is lift training?
Aerial work platform training is a fundamental and compulsory course for anyone working from or with different types of aerial work platforms. As more workplaces carry out work at height in the construction, industrial, property maintenance and events sectors, the need for the right skills has grown rapidly. This ensures that every employee operates the equipment safely, complies with the law and avoids risks.
The importance of safety training when working at height
Working at height always involves risks. With the right aerial work platform training, the risk of falls, collisions and technical faults that can lead to serious injuries is reduced. The training provides participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, creating a safe working environment where safety comes first.
Legal and health and safety requirements
According to AFS 2006:6, anyone using a lift must have documented knowledge. The employer is responsible for ensuring that staff have the necessary skills before work begins. This applies to both practical and theoretical aspects relating to safety, regulations and working methods.
That is why lift training is essential
Lift training is a vital part of health and safety management and ensures that everyone working at height does so safely, efficiently and in accordance with the law. With Ausab’s training, you’ll gain the right knowledge, practical skills and a certificate valid for five years.
Why is lift training important in the workplace?
Lifting training is essential for preventing accidents and creating a safe working environment. It also helps to improve efficiency in work processes where lifting equipment is used.
Prevention of accidents and injuries
Properly delivered training reduces the risk of incorrect use of lifts. Participants learn to identify risks, carry out daily checks and act quickly in emergency situations
Roles, responsibilities and the employer’s obligations
The employer must ensure that staff are trained, have passed their exams and hold valid certificates. Without the correct training, the employer is legally liable if anything happens.
How lift training works: Theory & Practice
The course consists of two main parts: a theoretical part and a practical part.
A programme combining online theory and practical training
The theoretical part is delivered online to make the training flexible and time-efficient. The practical elements are carried out either at Ausab or directly at the client’s premises.
